Rovsing is continuing its partnership with Thales Alenia Space (TAS) UK for the ESA FLuorescence EXplorer (FLEX) mission with the Launch Umbilical SCOE, a direct follow up to our already delivered EPS EGSE.
On the 19th of December we had a successful and approved Design Review with TAS-UK with the assembly, integration and test phase of the project now well underway.
The FLEX mission is the eighth Earth Explorer in ESA’s Living Planet Programme and will fly in tandem with the Copernicus Sentinel-3 mission. FLEX will provide global maps of vegetation fluorescence that can reflect photosynthetic activity and plant health and stress.
Rovsing is also excited to start the new ARIEL Satellite Interface Simulator (SIS) project together Airbus Defence & Space. The official Kick-off took place end of November 2022 with the preparations in full swing for the upcoming Design Review in early 2023.
Ariel, the Atmospheric Remote-sensing Infrared Exoplanet Large-survey, was selected as the fourth medium-class mission in ESA’s Cosmic Vision programme. It will study what exoplanets are made of, how they formed and how they evolve.
